Maxwell Kane Maxwell is one of the main characters in Freak the mighty. The author, Rodman Philbrick, describes Maxwell as tall, handsome, and brave.In addition, Maxwell is caring and kind. In the Book, the author reveals that Maxwell is caring when "I just sort of reach down without think and set him on my shoulders" (Philbrick #32). This shows that Maxwell is kind because he put Freak on his shoulders so he can see the fireworks. Furthermore, the author shows that Maxwell is caring when "I can ckeck on Freak and be back before breakfast"(Philbrick #153). This shows that Max cares about and how he is feeling. Based on the character’s behavior and dialogue in this novel, you can clearly see that Maxwell is kind and caring.
